Need to know more about your potential client?
2017 has been a great year for small business wanting to know a bit more about the demo-graphical make up of their potential client base.
This year we have seen the release of three very big data sets. All with some comprehensive insights about the make up of the Australian Society as it stands today. All very valuable data indeed.
In the near future I will be blogging about this three data sets and how small businesses may be able to use them. However, in this blog I will introduce you to them and show you where you can access them.
DATA you can’t do without.
This is, (in my professional opinion) the best demographic data in Australia. Especially now when the Census Data is fresh. Yes there was a bit of controversy about the how it was collected. however be assured that the poor IT implementation by a third party does not affect the quality of the Data collected.
The ABS are considered to be the best data and survey collecting agency in the world. You can rely upon the ABS to give you good Statistics.
All though the data collected by NAPLAN’s focuses on academic achievement of those tested, the my school data does show some great demographic information about each school. It is packaged in a way that is simple to use.
If you know the names of schools in your local area, you can collect some worthwhile data about your area.
3) The Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) Survey
This is a longitudinal survey facilitated by the Melbourne Institute. They have been dutifully collecting data from a number of Australian Households since 2006.
This data is great for accessing the trends of Australian Households. would be great if you want to do some future planning for your business.
I encourage you all to have a good look at the links I’ve provided for you. There is so much information you can utilise.
However If you are unsure about how to use it or don’t have the time to sift through it all, please get in contact with me and we can work out some strategies on how to make the most of this data for your business.
